Douglas George Thurman, 78, of Augusta, KS passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 in Andover, KS. Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. A private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Doug was born in Hutchinson, KS on November 22, 1947, to the late Lucille (Falk) and Jack Thurman. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked for Quik Trip for over 40 years. Doug loved fishing and golfing. On July 25, 1970 he married Connie (Souder) Thurman who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Tiffani Thurman of Wichita, KS; son, Nate Thurman and wife Kandice of Leawood, KS; grandchildren, Brock Thurman, Brennan Flax, Kimber Thurman, and Kaptin Thurman; nephew, Dave Hughes and wife Laura; great niece Alyssa Frutchey and family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Joy Hughes. Memorial donations to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
