Douglas Toth Obituary

Douglas R. Toth, 74, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Born in Syracuse, NY, he attended Westhill High School before continuing his education toward his bachelor's degree. Douglas spent one year at Miami University and later transferred to SUNY Brockport, where he studied marine biology and met his late wife, Ruth. After meeting in college, they shared 44 years of marriage and made their home in Syracuse, where they lovingly raised their two sons.
He was employed by and proudly retired from United Parcel Service, dedicating 30 years of hard work in both delivery and sorting. An avid golfer, he loved all sports and was a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, while also faithfully supporting Syracuse teams. He enjoyed traveling, especially to warm destinations, with Myrtle Beach holding a special place in his heart, but above all else he cherished time spent with his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sons, Jason (Kristi) Toth of Lexington, NC, and Steven Toth of Elizabeth City, NC; his six cherished grandchildren, Mackenzie, Tyler, Tristian, Corbin, Trinity, and Hannah; his brother, Daryl (Joanne) Toth; his sister, Nancy (Robert) Nicholas; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear family and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital for their support and compassionate care during his stay.

Deepest condolences....
I have missed stopping to talk with Doug as he was mowing, caring for his beautiful flowers and washing his car(regularly)
He would always say hi and have to give extra pets for my doggy. We would have some nice chats.
He was a great neighbor and will be missed. It will always be Doug's house to me.
Rest in peace Doug and Ruth, Linda and Jimmy 8336

Rich and Doug were friends for 40 years. They stayed close after retirement, golfing at so many different courses. He was there for those that needed him and could actually light up a room with his smile.

So sorry to hear about Doug. We attended Onondaga Hill Middle School together and then surprised when I found out he and I were both going to the University of Miami (FL) as Freshman. He was a great guy, easy to get along with.

My sincere condolences to you all.

Doug was a classmate from Onondaga Hill Elementary School (K -6) and Westhill (7-12). We reconnected when his wife passed away after I came to the calling hours to pay my respects. He missed his wife and greaved her early and painful passing.
It took some convincing to get him to attend our 50th class of 69 reunion so soon after her passing. He did and so many classmates commented after his obit was posted on our FB page that they enjoyed reconnecting with Doug. He also golfed with classmates as part of the reunion.
He was a very kind and considerate person. I occasionally called him after the reunion to see how he was doing and we had nice chats about growing up in Onondaga Hill. He told me his Mom was very involved with the Onondaga Hill Sr Center where I go to Art Sessions weekly. He was a kind man and I will miss our occasional chats. I am sorry that I did not speak to him recently. I am adding a picture of our reunion group.
He loved his family and spoke of them often. May the memories that he made with his family as a Dad and Grandfather help sooth the loss of Doug. I hope to attend the calling hours to extend my sympathies in person.
