I am fortunate to be able to say that I played baseball with Butch on the Lions Cubs and the WHS team that won the first Valley District championship in 1961. He was a great teammate and an unbelievable athlete and person. My best to the family during this difficult time.

Dear Julie, Rachael (John), Jake (Rachael Ann) and
Joan and Jim and all of the family:
Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you for the passing of Doug. We will always remember him as a good friend and how we met on Winifred Way in the Villages and all the great times we had together. He was a kind, gentle and loving man and will be in our hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this trying time. Even though we cannot be there, we will be there in spirit.
Love,
Judy andAndy

"Butch" and I were teammates on a little league team, but his athletic ability carried him waaaaay farther than most of the rest of us. Condolences to his family. He will be missed by people you do not even know.....jim/Denny Brooker

Doug and I double dated a lot in high school. I dated my future wife, Marilyn and he dated my sister, Sharon. We played four sports togather at WHS. He was a fabulous athlete and I will cherish our playing days together. I survived cancer in 2013 and wrote him a letter of encouragement when he got it. So sorry he losted the battle. He will be truly missed by many friends.

We were next door neighbors on Court Road in the 70's when our children were very small. We spent many evenings together and our children played together almost daily. I am saddened to hear of his death. Prayers are extended to his family.

I am so sorry for the sadness you are feeling now. Please be assured that our Heavenly Father understands your pain. He is a God of compassion and through prayer, you will receive the peace that he gives the broken-hearted ones. (Luke 1:78,79)
