BEAVER DAM – Douglas Duane Vance, 71, of Beaver Dam passed away June 3rd, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born January 5th, 1954 in Hartford to the late Charles and Winona Hardin Vance.
Doug loved NHRA drag racing, collecting Hot Wheels and aggravating his wife and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Vance and sweet baby girl, granddaughter Maely Vance.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Spring Brackett Vance; son, Chase Vance (Kathy); daughter, Alana Elliott (Ben); grandchildren, Cullen, Eli, and Briar Elliott, and Conner and Emersyn Vance, and Hunter Gibson; 2 brothers, Greg (Pat) and Dwight (Chrissy) Vance; sisters, Kim Vance and Danni Vance; several nieces and nephews; his faithful companions, his dogs Bo and Buttermilk, and cats Pickle, Sugar and Oakie.
Per his wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Addison Jo Blair Cancer Care Center at Norton's Children's Hospital.
