Douglas Wood, a cherished father, departed peacefully on the morning of August 24, 2025. Born on June 21, 1947, in upstate New York, Douglas was the treasured son of his late parents, Joseph and Mary (Burke) Wood. He is survived by his two children, son, Scott (wife Liz) and daughter, Kimberly Wood, along with their mother, Deborah Wood. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, Howard Wood; sisters, Teresa Bollent (Wood Tillman) and Pamela Wood; brother-in-law, Michael Caridi; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Caridi, Barbara Caridi, and Angela Berube (Caridi) and her husband, Dan Berube, and their children, Matthew, Samantha, and Christopher Berube. He is also survived by nieces, Fabrienne Wood and Tamara Wood, and Angela Tillman, as well as nephews, Joseph "Jay" Tillman and several great-nieces and nephews, Trevon, Jaden, Jace, and Jackson. All will fondly remember him for his kindness, witty personality, and sense of humor.

Douglas was a talented musician, playing both the saxophone and drums in his youth. During high school, he excelled as an athlete, participating in baseball, basketball, football, and track, where he ran hurdles and performed the high jump using the Fosbury flip technique. Known as a shade tree mechanic, he also had a passion for riding motorcycles in his younger days. His special love for all animals was evident throughout his life.

In accordance with his wishes, the family will honor his request for cremation. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, located at 92 South Lexington Avenue, White Plains, NY.
