Doyle Heath Obituary

Today, we gather with heavy hearts to honor and remember the life of Doyle Alvin Heath, who passed away on February 19, 2026, at his residence in Fairfax, Oklahoma, where he proudly called home for the past 48 years.

Doyle, affectionately known by his family as “Dude”, was born on August 2, 1942, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Clair and Geneva Heath, along with his twin brother Denny. The twins were preceded by three siblings, Paula, Errol, and Jeanith, and joined several years later by Johnna. The family lived in Weatherford and other towns before settling in Fairfax in 1954. He attended and graduated from Fairfax High School, where he developed his love for athletics and, more importantly, found the love of his life, Wanda King. He joined the Army National Guard in December of 1961 and served until August of 1974. Doyle and Wanda were married in the First Osage Baptist Church on March 8, 1963. They were blessed with three children, Tami, Troy, and Teddi. Doyle and his family lived in several states while he worked on the pipeline before returning to his hometown, where he spent the rest of his life. After returning home, Doyle worked as an insurance adjuster but was best remembered for his time as an auto body repairman alongside his brothers, Denny and Errol. He also spent time working at the Kah-Wah-Z golf course, where he shared his love of golf with many friends and family who lovingly dubbed him “The Buzzard.”

Doyle had a true servant’s heart. He spent his life serving his community in numerous ways. His love for the Lord called him to serve as a youth group leader at the Nazarene Church, a cook at Falls Creek with the First Osage Baptist Church, and as a volunteer on two mission trips with the First Christian Church, alongside his good friend Dr. James Graham. It brought him great joy to attend services at the First Osage Baptist Church with his family.

Whether he was coaching little league baseball, football, or track, or volunteering at the Special Olympics, his love of sports blessed not only his family but the entire community. He volunteered countless hours helping ready the softball and baseball fields for play and making popcorn in the concession stands. He was a die-hard Sooners fan and loved watching football and softball. He spent many years taking his good friend Gary Klopp to OU football games. He also served on the Fairfax School Board.

Another one of his favorite things was country music. He enjoyed attending concerts and especially enjoyed a trip he took to Nashville to attend Fan Fair. His favorite singer was Gene Watson, something he shared with his brother Denny.

His greatest love, however, was his family. You could always count on him to be in the stands or on the sideline if one of his children or grandchildren were on the field or court. He and Wanda loved sitting in the porch swing listening to the birds and watching his family play kickball in his front yard. His granddaughters could count on him to make the best sweet tea any time they asked for it.

Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; daughter Tami Gibson and husband Ronnie; son Troy Heath; daughter Teddi McKinney and husband Darren; grandchildren Savanah, Heath and partner Christina, Shawnee, Taylor and husband Jack, Caleb, Rowdy, Trey, and Lucky, and 18 great-grandchildren. Siblings Paula Elliott, Errol Heath, and Jeanith Goad and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Geneva; brother Denny; sister Johnna; grandson Garrett; granddaughter Kimberly; and great-grandson Barrett.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we are grateful for the time we had with our PaPa and the countless memories he leaves behind. His love will continue to guide us, comfort us, and remind us what truly matters.
