Kenneth Doyle Redmond, age 84, of
Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on November 27, 2025.
He was born May 2, 1941 in Claiborne County, Tennessee, the son of the late Lee and Edna Barnett Redmond.
There are not enough ways to describe the wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend that Doyle was. A hard worker, he would rise with the sun and work until its setting – instilling this strong ethic into his children. A true outdoorsman, he simply enjoyed nature around him, the mountains and just being outside. One of Doyle's favorite past times was working in his barn and piddling around. He also had an overflowing love for his grandchildren and getting to spend time with them.
Doyle was Saved later on in life, but once he met the Lord, he fully dedicated his life to serving Him. A great witness to others, he never met a stranger and would always ask if they knew the Lord. He was a faithful member of Hensley's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
In Doyle's final days here on earth, he continued to fight and hold on. He wanted nothing more to than to see his entire family Saved. On the morning of November 27, he was given the greatest news – the last two of his great-grandchildren had accepted the Lord and told him they would see him again in Heaven. Immediately upon hearing this, Doyle took his last breath on this earth and opened his eyes in Heaven to be with the Lord. What a wonderful testimony of the surety of his salvation and the unwavering love he had not only for the Lord, but for his family, that he held on until he could safely know they would all be reunited together again someday.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Janet Faye Redmond, brothers and sisters-in-law Pete and Jan Redmond, Glen and Helen Redmond, Carl and Carol Redmond, brothers-in-law Donnie Roark, Marvin Douglas, and infant siblings Luther Redmond and Opal Redmond.
Left to cherish his memory, loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Katherine Redmond, daughter Jeannie Redmond, grandchildren Misti McGrath and husband James, Jessica Trentham and husband Brian, great-grandchildren Emilee McGrath, Allison McGrath, Claira Trentham and Landon Trentham, siblings Maxine Roark, Ancil Redmond and Charles Redmond, as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to name but all who will miss him so dearly.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bluegrass Care Navigators for their tender care and exceptional support during this most difficult time.
