Dr. Csaba M. Rozsa age 80, passed away on September 27, 2025. Beloved husband of Luba (deceased), dear father of Teresa Polatajko (Mark), USAF Retired Major Miklos “Mykola” (Tracy), Stephan “Taras” (Stephanie), Maria “Laryssa” Davis (Robert), USAF Technical Sargent Michael (Tabitha), Peter (Nicole), Elizabeth “Lessya” Braddock (Chris); loving grandfather of Carolyn, Lesyk, Melania, Emilia, Nicholas, Olivia, Daniel, Matthew, Madelyn, Joseph, Julius, Garrett and Patrick; preceded in death by parents Gyula and Margaret and dear brother to Margaret “Munci” Lipovits (Joe deceased), Anna Orbanes (Philip), Arpad (Jenny) and to the late Zoltan, Mary Szalay and Andrew “Endre”; cherished brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle to many.
Csaba Miklos Rozsa lived a life filled with curiosity, generosity, and a sharp wit that never failed to make those around him smile. Born in Hungary, he came to America in 1951. He attended St. Ignatius High School and went on to earn his Ph.D. in nuclear physics from The Ohio State University, putting himself and Luba through school as a professor there. He began his career in Texas, working at Texas A&M University before returning to Cleveland to continue a professional life filled with research, inventions, and patents.
A devoted husband to his beloved Luba for 53 years, Csaba built a home centered on love and laughter. He and Luba raised seven multilingual children, filling their days with music, camping trips, and countless adventures. Csaba loved to play the accordion and piano for his children, creating the kind of memories that would echo through their lives.
He found joy in both the everyday and the extraordinary — fixing anything that was broken, setting sail on open waters, and gathering often with family. A true sailor at heart, Csaba earned his captain’s license and could navigate by the stars, blending science and adventure wherever he went.
Csaba always put others first, taking care of his family and anyone in need. His strong faith guided his life and decisions, and he lived each day with integrity and purpose. For more than 20 years, he and Luba joyfully hosted the annual family reunion, creating lasting memories.
But perhaps most memorable were his quirks and humor. His legendary procrastination became a family trademark — like the times all seven children were packed in the car for church while he found things to organize and clean up in the yard. Ever sarcastic, he especially enjoyed giving his future sons-in-law a hard time and could always be counted on for a perfectly timed joke or clever remark that kept everyone on their toes.
He was an example to follow. A forever teacher, he was always teaching and explaining. Most importantly, he taught by example that God and family come first.
