Dr. Paul Robert Levine – known to many as “Papa,” “Dr. Bob,” and “Uncle Bobby” – passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at his home in Palm Coast, Florida at the age of 79 years old. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Susan, and his four children.

A Tampa native, he was born at Tampa General Hospital (then called Tampa Municipal Hospital) to Sylvia and Maurice (“Buddy”) Levine. He was the baby brother of Michael Levine, of blessed memory, and Victoria Levine Gold. Dr. Levine devoted his life to his family, his community, and his OBGYN patients. He was deeply committed to his work as a physician, always honoring the oath of Maimonides and treating everyone with respect and care, regardless of their circumstance. In his spare time, Dr. Levine was an avid sport-fisherman, private pilot, scuba diver, and ACBL Bridge Life Master. But, in most recent years, he has filled all of his spare time with pillow fights, ice cream sundaes, Disney trips, little league games, equestrian championships, and dance competitions – everything centered around his seven grandchildren.

Dr. Levine was known for his generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. He was a steady and trusted presence to all who knew him, earning the love and respect of his family, friends, and patients.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, his four children, Jill Levine Hechtman, M.D. (Jason Hechtman, M.D.), Karen Levine Mallin (Jonathan Mallin), Shana Perlmutter Levine, and Jonah Maurice Levine (Hannah Levine), his seven grandchildren, Sadie, Emma, Josephine, Benjamin, Jacob, Abigail, and Miriam, and his extended family, all of whom will carry on his legacy of compassion and integrity.

Donations may be made in Dr. Levine’s memory to the Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County, Inc., an organization that he passionately supported throughout his career.

May his memory be a blessing.
