Drennen Stickle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMahon - Coyne - Vitantonio Funeral Home - Mentor on Dec. 11, 2025.
Drennen Lee Stickle, born May 29, 1939, in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late William Sheridan and Viola Mae Stickle (nee Baxter), passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Mentor, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family.

Drennen was the devoted husband of Eileen Stickle (nee McCummins), with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and unwavering love. He was the cherished father of Maureen (Jim) Kraizel, Thomas (Yun Jeong) Stickle, William Stickle, Sharon (John) Hagan, and Laura (Lori-Ann Farinas) Stickle, and the proud, doting grandfather of Leo Stickle, Emily Stickle, Tiana Stickle, John Hagan Jr., and Ryan Hagan. He was also the loving uncle of Theresa (McCummins) Hill and Anthony McCummins, and a devoted great-uncle to Mary McCummins, who was more like a granddaughter and the caring brother-in-law of James McCummins.

Drennen lived a life that reflected dedication, kindness, and community. His working years were diverse and rooted in service. He began as a store manager at Isaly's in Pennsylvania before being transferred to Ohio, where he made his permanent home. He later became a driver and salesman for Euclid Race and Dairymen's and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 336. After retiring, Drennen joyfully embarked on a new chapter as a bus driver for the Riverside School District. He truly loved driving the buses-especially being around the children, whose energy and smiles brought him daily happiness.

When his children were young, Drennen poured his time and heart into the Willoughby Baseball League, where he served as league president in the 1980s. He made lifelong friendships there and always enjoyed catching up with the many people he met through the league. His commitment to community extended to his faith, as he was a founding member of St. John Vianney Church, a place that remained deeply meaningful to him.

In his spare moments, Drennen loved playing golf, but nothing brought him greater joy than simply being with his family. His steady presence, gentle humor, and genuine warmth will be forever treasured by those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 2:00–5:00 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street, Mentor, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Thomas Johns at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 15 at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Burial will follow at Mentor Cemetery.

Drennen leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and kindness-a life well lived and a man deeply loved. He will be profoundly missed.

So sorry to hear of Drenny's passing. He was a sweet cousin that I remember as a young girl. He was very easygoing and good natured. My Dad was his Mom's oldest brother. Drenny will be missed by all who knew him. Ginny Rae (Baxter)Murphy

I am so sorry to hear this.
I worked with Drennen in the Transportation Department at Riverside Schools.
He was the nicest person and I loved visiting with him when he would be in the office. I used to tease him about giving up noisy milk bottles for loud kids!!
He had the warmest smile and always had something funny to say.
He will be truly missed but he makes me smile when I see this picture.
