When I think of Drew I always think of one of the coolest people I have ever met. Their talent shined on stage and they had a personality unlike any other. It is privilege that I was able to have met them in this life. Drew was a natural performer. They are one of the kindest people I think I have ever met. They made my high school experience and I looked up to them much more than I expressed to them. They always made sure to go out of their way to ensure everyone felt accepted and appreciated. They had the best style and always made sure to be the best dressed person in the room. Their confidence in themselves made everyone feel confident too. My condolences to Drew´s family as well as anyone else who had the privilege of meeting them

To the Altom and Baumgartner families and friends, I have been dumbstruck for days upon learning of your loss. A bright and especially beautiful light, Drew Altom was serious-minded and eager in all elements of performance art. The many remarks I have heard and read from others reflect the love for not only Drew, but also you. Please accept my profound condolences.

Altoms, Shannon Hasper and I are getting ready to come to the service and my stomach is in knots thinking of the profound grief you hold coupled with the idea of having to see so many people who loved Drew. It's a lot and I am praying for your strength and courage as you get through this night. I loved seeing Drew at Herron, and especially any time I saw them dance. They were mesmerizing. Their talent was so evident and they exemplified a beauty and unique expression that was all theirs. Ellie, I can't wait to give you a hug. I am thinking of you and will make myself available if you ever want to chat. Love to you, too, Tim and Heidi.

We met at a mutual friend's birthday in high-school. We both didn't have any money and people had left from the table next to us and left a bunch of untouched pizza. We joked that we could just eat that but then we ended up actually doing it. It was silly and everyone kinda acted like we were crazy but I didn't feel awkward or anything. They were good at making people feel like they belonged, that they were accepted. We hit it off that night, we stayed longer than anyone and ended up talking for an hour after everyone had gone home. I really loved Drew. That night was the start of a 6 year long friendship. I feel lucky to have even met them.

There was never a time when Drew didn't bring a laugh or a smile to my face. Working with them and watching them perform was always a highlight of my summer.

When I first met Drew, I was signing up for our high school´s drama club. I had just gotten into a new high school where I didn´t really know anyone. Drew was working the sign up booth and immediately saw that my last name was Foster. Drew began to call me "baby Sutton" after the famous Sutton Foster. They then claimed me as their "freshman baby." It was the first time I felt truly included and welcomed in my high school.

Drew was an incredible writer. Writing songs together and jamming in the sunshine were some of the best times I had with them.

Drew was one amazing human! They were our cook, at Day Early Learning Center for Infants and Toddlers, and greatly loved! They will be incredibly missed.

I have countless favorite memories with Drew. They were like family to me. My brother. We met doing musical theatre at Footlite and were inseparable. We went through a lot of hard things together and also made beautiful art together. They were so proud of all the art I do and I was and am so proud of them. Everything I do from now on is to honor you, Drew.

Honored to have spent many beautiful, difficult, loving, and laughter filled moments with Drew throughout my time learning what it means to be a human. Love always, never forgotten. Thank you.

I always think of the time Drew declared "OH! YOU'RE DAD'S GIRLFRIEND!" when they put 2 & 2 together that after hanging out for years that I was "that client" that made their Dad take me through 100 houses to find the right one.
It was funny once I heard the explanation. Not so funny initially!
