Drew Van Nguyen, 35, of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and community spirit.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel located at 3220 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51104.
Drew was born on December 3, 1989, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Tong and Kendra (Long) Nguyen was a beacon of kindness and compassion who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Growing up in a nurturing environment, Drew graduated from Battle Creek High School in Battle Creek, Nebraska, in 2008. His journey through life was marked not only by his academic achievements but also by his dedication to his family and friends. Drew earned a black belt in Taekwondo at the young age of 12, a testament to his determination and passion for discipline.
Drew's career was diverse and reflective of his vibrant personality. He worked at various establishments including Outback Steakhouse, The Icky Nickel, and One-Eyed Jack's, ultimately taking on the role of manager at Famous Daves. Throughout his work, he embodied the spirit of kindness, treating every patron and colleague with respect and warmth.
Outside of his professional life, Drew had a zest for hobbies that reflected his fun-loving spirit. He was an avid dart player who relished the thrill of dart tournaments and was a dedicated Kansas City Chiefs fan. Whether celebrating team victories or enjoying friendly competitions, Drew's enthusiasm was infectious, bringing joy to those around him.
Known for his caring and loving nature, Drew never complained and embraced life with an open heart. He cherished his family deeply, and his strong bonds with them were evident.
Drew is survived by his devoted parents, Tong and Kendra Nguyen of Sioux City; his brothers, Brandon Nguyen of North Sioux City and Jason Nguyen of Utah; and his cherished nephew, Rolland Nguyen. The love they shared was unbreakable, and his family will forever hold his memory close.
