He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Eileen Bohne.
Duane Ralph Bohne was born June 22, 1934, in Frazee, Minnesota-Ottertail County to Arthur and Hazel (Leeseberg) Bohne. Growing up in northern Minnesota, Duane was a 1952 graduate from Frazee High School. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. Duane married Cleo J. Schmidt on July 4, 1959, in Moorhead, Minnesota while attending college. He received his bachelor of science degree from Moorhead State University, and later attained his master's degree from North Dakota State University. Duane was employed by the Pueblo Colorado Public School District (1961-65), Fergus Falls Public School District (1965-66), Wadena Public School District (1966-67), and the State of Minnesota (1968-1993). He was a past member of the Amvets, the American Legion, the Elk's Club, the Eagle's Club, and upon his retirement, he continued his public service activities as a supervisor with the Dead Lake Township in rural Otter Tail County from 1997-2004. He enjoyed his travels in Europe and spending time with his wife and friends at various festivals. Countless hours were spent dancing with his wife Cleo at ballrooms across the midwest. He also enjoyed books, culinary pursuits, and the many years of solitude he found at his lake home in Ottertail County. Duane's life was marked by service, learning, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys-whether dancing with Cleo, exploring new places, or finding peace at the lake. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, generosity, and a life well lived. Blessed be his memory.
