Duane Edward Harley

February 28, 1960-December 2, 2025

Born in Knox, Indiana on February 28, 1960, to Mary Jane Bettu and Loyal Harley, Duane Edward Harley lived a life defined by devotion, vision, and unwavering love for his family and others.

Duane attended Indiana Wesleyan University, where he studied business. He went on to build a long and respected career working for several power utility companies, ultimately serving as Senior Director of Engineering of Ameren in St. Louis, Missouri.

On October 20, 1979, Duane married the love of his life, Susan Joy Pawlak, a love story that began in the sixth grade. Even as a young boy, he knew she was the one he would someday marry. He once drew a picture of the house they would share, a testament to his visionary spirit and the depth of his devotion. They were blessed with 46 wonderful years of marriage.

Together, Duane and his beloved wife raised two daughters, Tiffany and Tabatha, whom he treasured dearly. Tiffany married William Montorsi, and together they blessed Duane with one cherished grandson, Hunter Montorsi. Prior to Duane's passing, Tabatha married Michael Shalla on November 25, 2025, a milestone that brought him great happiness.

Duane's legacy lives on in the love he shared, the example he set, and the family who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. He was a man of great faith, and it showed by the way he lived out the love of Jesus to others.

His celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 1pm at Live Oaks Community Church 5600 Heritage Blvd, Wildwood, FL 34785.
