Larry Waltermire, 80, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 18, 1946, in Anderson, Indiana to Earl and Annabelle Waltermire. Larry spent most of his life in New Palestine, Indiana. In retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Tampa, Florida with his wife and daughter.
He was a graduate of Frankton High School, Class of 1964, and later earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana Wesleyan University. Larry dedicated over 40 years of his career to Navistar International, retiring as a respected professional known for his strong work ethic, positivity and sense of humor.
Larry was a devoted sports fan, especially of IU basketball and Indianapolis Colts football, rarely missing a game. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf with friends, daily walks outdoors, fishing, watching movies and spending time at the beach with his family.
Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marsha Waltermire; his daughter, Erica Waltermire; his brother, Don (Linda) Waltermire; his sisters-in-law, Sharon Waltermire and Linda Waltermire; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Annabelle Waltermire; his siblings, Joann Waltermire, Joyce Trennepohl, Roger “Butch” Waltermire, Gene Waltermire, Doug “Jim” Waltermire and his twin brother, Jerry Waltermire.
Larry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Following a private cremation, a celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date.
