Bell Mortuary & Crematory - Shangrila ChapelPaul "Pete" Boring, 85, of Freeport, passed away on February 16, 2026 in Morristown.
Pete was a lifelong mechanic who devoted his career to working on cars and helping others. He proudly owned and operated Pete's Auto, where he spent countless hours doing what he loved. Even outside of work, he could usually be found tinkering in the garage, fixing something, or lending a helping hand.
He enjoyed watching basketball and baseball, mowing his grass, playing golf, taking care of his garden, and taking his grandchildren on golf cart rides. Some of his favorite moments were spent sitting in his rocker on the front porch, watching the sun rise and enjoying the peace of the morning.
Above all else, Pete loved his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather who gave everything he had for his children and grandchildren. His steady presence, strong work ethic, and generous heart will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his children Katrina Trattner; Douglas Boring (Brittany); Misty Lambert (Rick); and Brant Petrey (Holly).
Grandchildren: Aubrea, Arik, and Ashton Trattner; Austin, Adilyn, and Aleah Boring; Kaleb, Jakob, and Kaitlynne Lambert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Pressie Boring; and his siblings: Lora, Betty, Sonny, Ronnie, Donnie, Evelyn Jean, and Ruth Ann.
Pete will be remembered as a hardworking man, a loving family man, and a father who always put his children and grandchildren first. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
