Lynne Probasco

Lynne F. Probasco, 65, passed away at Franciscan Health Lafayette East on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Lynne was born February 28, 1960 in Lafayette to the late Davey and Irma (McLain) Smith. Her marriage was to Mark Probasco on August 22, 1981 in Otterbein, Indiana. He survives. Lynne received her Bachelor of Arts from Indiana Wesleyan. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Lynne was all about her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a profound love of nature and the beauty of flowers and trees. She took great pride in taking care of animals in need and loved to fish. She was an avid fan of the Lafayette Aviators and loved the simplicity of sitting outside enjoying a summer evening. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sarah (Cody) Pruitt and Rebecca Probasco both of Lafayette; siblings, Amanda Mitchell, Cathy Overbee and Rob Lawhorne; grandchildren, Clay, Cadence, Grace, and Solomon.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Wilfong.

A Celebration of Lynne's Life will take place at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Visitation will be one hour prior to the ceremony at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th Street, Lafayette. Casual attire requested. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to the Indiana Veterans Home, St. Jude’s, or St. Anthony Healthcare.
