Duane Alan LaBudde

Duane Alan LaBudde, age 76, of Freeport, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026.

Duane was born on January 3, 1950, in Freeport, Illinois. He spent most of his life in the community he loved and built a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and generosity.

Duane dedicated 38 years of service to Micro Switch, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Outside of work, he found joy riding his Harley, spending time with family and friends, and giving back to his community. He was an active volunteer at the Freeport Moose Lodge, where his dedication and service were recognized when he was awarded his Pilgrim Degree, an honor he was deeply proud of.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Viola S. LaBudde; his children, Patrick (Angie) LaBudde and Kimberly (Shane) Gipe; his grandchildren, Austin B. LaBudde, Jason A. LaBudde, Paige L. Stichter, Wyatt D. (Kendra) Gipe, and Zoie M. Gipe; and his great-grandchildren, Brinley R. Stichter, Reagan K. LaBudde, Kooper Q. LaBudde, and Mara L. Gipe. His honorary daughter Heidi Pena-Foster and granddaughters Halie Heller, Isabel Pena and Sarah Pena.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Duane will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to family, his love of the open road, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday January 15, 2026, at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. A luncheon will follow at the Freeport Moose Lodge for anyone that would like to attend.
