Duane Olson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Duane Alfred Olson, 82, of Carefree, Arizona. Duane was a devoted husband, a cherished father, a proud papa, and a steadfast friend whose warmth and wisdom touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born in Olean, New York, to Alfred and Grace Olson, Duane grew up with a deep sense of family and faith. He earned his undergraduate degree from North Park College in Chicago, Illinois, followed by a Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School. Duane's adventurous spirit brought him west in 1972, where he established his family and the law firm Weyl, Guyer, MacBan & Olson, P.A. in Phoenix, Arizona. A respected attorney, Duane retired in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and dedication.
Duane's love for his family was boundless. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Pamela, and survived by his children Erika Oliver (Greg), Erin Lassen, Britt Clarkson, and Adam Olson (Roxann). He was the proud Papa to Sydney, Ben, Kolby, Jake, Noah, Brooke, and Matthew, whose lives he enriched with love, stories, and his unshakable faith.
A man of many passions, Duane found joy in hunting trips with lifelong friends, worshipping as a founding member of Paradise Valley Community Church, and immersing himself in the beauty of nature in Big Timber, Montana and his cabins in Pinetop and Crown King. He had a love for Corvettes, a knack for tinkering in his garage, and a deep appreciation for old westerns, which echoed his rugged yet gentle spirit. His mornings were often spent with his Starbucks group, savoring both coffee and camaraderie.
Duane lived a life of purpose, devotion, and kindness. His legacy is a testament to the power of faith, family, and a life well-lived. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever warm our hearts and inspire our lives.
He will be deeply missed, but his love and light will remain with us always. Duane will be laid to rest next to his wife Pam, at The Cave Creek Cemetery.

I knew Duane for many years. In fact I met Pam when she and Duane invited me to their Crown King Cabin for a weekend visit. They convinced me of the uniqueness of the Crown King area. I subsequently purchased a cabin there so we were neighbors for many years. As fellow defense trial attorneys, we saw each other frequently. Duane was a very very competent lawyer. One particularly unique quality that he had, was that he could disarm an opposing lawyer´s wrath with his ability to smile through it and maintain his civil professionalism at the same time.
