DuAnn Scott-Carothers

DuAnn Scott-Carothers, was born on September 18, 1956, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Dewey and Alyce Scott. She is the sister of the late Alice Jane Scott.
She is a graduate of Pittsburgh Public Schools. While there, she played flute in the band, was a track star, and a cheerleader. DuAnn went on to further her education at Clarion University where she earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She taught typing classes while in school to make money.
Upon graduating from Clarion University, she moved to Harrisburg, PA where she accepted a position as a Systems Computer Analyst for the State, at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. She worked hard, as sometimes being the only woman who could program a computer in a male-dominated world. DuAnn retired from PennDOT after 36 years of dedicated service.
If you knew DuAnn, you would know she loved going to church. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of her home church, Beulah Baptist Church, in Pittsburgh, PA until she moved to Harrisburg, PA. Once in Harrisburg, she joined Fellowship Baptist Church. A good friend of hers was telling her about his church, thus she visited Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church. After only a couple of visits, she joined right away. There she would meet her lifelong friends and praying partners, the group affectionately called "The Aunties". DuAnn was a member of various choirs, a part of the Vacation Bible School teacher team (where she was known for her arts and crafts), but most of all she loved her Mime Ministry, which she named, "Saints in Motion". She would take a group of young girls who would mime in church and teach them to be sisters and to give back to the community, to those who were less fortune than themselves. They would grow up and affectionately call her their second mother.
In 2015, DuAnn would become a charter member of the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She would worship and be a big supporter for Solid Rock in building their church. She sang on the choir and so enjoyed praise and worship, even more so, being a warrior on the battlefield for the Lord.
On September 26, 2022, DuAnn was called to see Jesus's face and to be recognized as "thy good and faithful servant". She leaves to cherish precious memories, her one and only daughter, Minister Allison Harr; her son-n-love, Gregory Harr Jr.; the apple of her eye, her grandchildren: Sanaia Harr, Olivia Green, and Nehemiah Harr; her cousin who she counted as her brother, Gary Robinson; and her best friend since they were 5 years old, Rev. Katrina Organ.
DuAnn loved the Lord, her Family and her Church Family. Sleep on DuAnn and take your rest. We loved you dearly, but God loves you Best!
