Duncan Fraser, age 84, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was born April 9, 1941,
to the late Stanley and Dorothy (nee Schrader) Fraser. Brother of Nancy (late Walter) McConnell.
Devoted husband of Sandra "Sandy" (nee Austin) Fraser. Loving father of Tammy (Karlton) Ross. Dear
grandfather to Allison (Benjamin) Hayden and Nicholas Ross. Great-grandfather of Emerson Hayden.
Born in
Chicago, IL in 1941, Duncan spent most of his life in
Delray Beach, Florida. He was a loving
husband and father, proud Naval officer, and talented salesman with a remarkable gift for connecting with people.
He attended Florida State University, graduating in 1963. A true people person, Duncan spent much of his career in sales, where his quick wit and engaging personality served him well. He worked primarily in agricultural sales, but over the years sold everything from seed to replacement windows-and nearly everything in between.
Duncan proudly served his country as a Naval officer, an experience that remained a lifelong source of pride. Commissioned as an Ensign in 1963, he served two years aboard the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La and then two more years with Fleet Air Wing Eleven at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. It was there that he met his wife, Sandy. What began as a blind date would forever change the course of his life. They had a daughter, Tammy, and raised their family in Nashville, Tennessee. Together, Duncan and Sandy shared 61 beautiful years of marriage, building a life defined by love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Outside of work, he found his greatest joy on the golf course. In 2003, Duncan and Sandy retired to the hills of Tennessee in Fairfield Glade, a golf course community perfectly suited to his passion. Golf was more than a pastime-it was a true love. He crafted his own clubs, played whenever he could, and was always eager to offer a tip or two to help improve someone's game. The sport brought him and Sandy happiness, camaraderie, and many dear friendships.
With his big personality, Duncan was often the life of the party. He loved good company, lively conversation, and shared laughter-often enjoyed with a glass of scotch in hand. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
He will be remembered for his humor, love of golf, and unwavering commitment to those he cared about. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories held close by all who knew him.
