We are saddened to announce the passing of Van ình Dung, age 60, on December 10th, 2023 from an unexpected heart attack. Born in Saigon, Vietnam on October 21st, 1963, and son of Van Xí and Tr n Th Hai. He was the middle child of many brothers and sisters and have always been connected to big families.
Throughout his lifetime, he became a man of many trades. He was skilled in machinery and thrived on continuing his knowledge on the latest technical skills and news. Always fascinated in advancements mankind achieved with modern electronics. He also adored and valued the classical art skills of music and animation. He loved rewatching August Rush and enjoyed the story of the boy who found his family through music. Surprisingly, he also enjoyed the movie Tangled! There were endless nights of movie watching in the household. Before TV streaming, it was a weekly tradition to go to the Video Warehouse. He enjoyed sci-fi, action and comedy most. He loved exploring and driving around in his truck to new places, especially to see the latest car models and housing architecture. Every weekend he made it a mission to not stay home and would make family trips to explore or run errands. When he was not traveling, he enjoyed working on the house making home improvements to make it a better home.
Dung was a very religious man. He would wake up an hour before everyone in his house hold, make his coffee, and pray over his family's health and wellbeing. He prayed for his family to be guarded spiritual in his absence. He was selfless and would not hesitate to lend a hand to those in need. Though days were long, working 10 hours shifts, 6 days a week, he pushed forward to ensure his family had a quality life to live. Dung was a critical thinker. With age came wisdom, and he was more than happy to share the knowledge with anyone willing to listen. He thought deeply of life believing in kindness and the good of others. Dung was full of jokes that were not as funny as his actual laugh. His laugh was so infectious it still echos throughout his loved one's minds. He radiates a smile that is engraving and unforgettable. Dung's empathy towards others made people gravitate towards him and allow others to feel a warmth that is genuine. He had a gift of making everyone feel like family. He has spiritually adopted so many kids and made friends that he could call family, ensuring they always had a home in his heart. Dung left a mark on anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Though his heart may have failed him in this life, it did not fail to leave its love in the people around him.
Compassion, wisdom, and laughter are the major accomplishments in his lifetime. His cheerful spirit and bright smile will be missed among many communities.
He leaves behind his daughters: Ashley, Dianna, Darcy and son Alex along with many grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at South Park Funeral Home. Visitations hours are 10AM - 8PM on Sunday, December 17th, 2023. Final services on and burial will be held the following day beginning at 10AM. There will also be a donation box present to assist his family in covering funeral expenses.
