Hallie Vern Friday, age 85, passed away peacefully at her nephew and niece's home in Pearland Texas on August 3, 2025. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death. She was born on February 28, 1940, in Coushatta Louisiana. Hallie was a woman of honor, humor, and boundless care. She lived her life with courage, curiosity, and a heart that never stopped giving.
Born with an adventurous spirit, Hallie answered the call to serve as a proud Marine in 1959. After her honorable discharge, she continued to carry that strength and discipline throughout her life. Yet behind her bravery was a gentle and quirky soul who delighted in caring for others–family, friends, and every animal that crossed her path.
Hallie found joy in being the steady caregiver of her loved ones, always ready with support, laughter, or a listening ear. Family adventures–whether big or small–were at the center of her world, and she made even an ordinary day memorable. Her love for all animals, big or small was unmatched, and they too knew her as a protector and friend.
Those who knew Hallie will remember her honorable nature, her playful quirks that brought light into every room, and her deep devotion to the people and creatures she loved. Her laugh could fill a room and was contagious. Her life was a blend of strength and tenderness, disciplined, and delight–a balance only she could embody so naturally.
She is preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and husband, Gene, parents– Zera Zimmerman Sewell and Eddie Mae Goodson– siblings–Fronie B. Robinett and Eddie Sewell and Bobby J. Robinett. Survived by her nieces Bertha Mae Robinett, Debbie Doolan nephews Billy R. Robinett and Glenn Sewell, great nephew Zachery R. Robinett and great-great nephew, Theodore R. Robinett. We would like to thank Vantage Hospice for their excellent care and support during our loss. Donation may be made in Hallie's honor to a animal shelter of your choice.
