In June of 2021 Dustin and I were in Lawrence he was taking me to my doctor's appointmentt. After my appt, while driving, we were talking about the big hills on the south side of Lawrence he told me that he'd been up on one at a lookout post he said from up in that look-out post you could see all the beautiful view of Lawrence and how fantastic it was so we decided to turn around and go back and take an exit southeast of Lawrence to a country road at the bottom of one the hills. We drove around and around looking for a way up the biggest hill and never finding one, not even a trail up the hill. we laughed and laughed as we looked and looked for the road that Dustin swore was there but was not. We came upon a huge bass pond, surrounded by trees ~ ~ quite picturesque. There were fish actually jumping up out of the water! All over this beautiful secluded pond. Dustin was just goin' off, and was quite exhilaratied, over this site!
As we went on down the country road we turned as the road turned and we saw where this artist had made all this tin art work and ornamental things and had put them up along the road side. We then saw this lovely farm house that was for sale. The pond, that we had just seen, was part of the acerage of the house that was for sale.
We ended up on this beautiful drive in the country
We laughed and laughed at ourselves as we were trying to get up this big hill to go to that lookout place. There was no way up that hill, but we had a heck of a good time lookin' for one.

Marcella Scott~ in loving memory of Dustin Benton our wonderful friend. Well see ya in heaven, Dustin.
