Mr. Dusty J. Dowdy, loving husband, father, and pawpaw, passed away Monday, April 14th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Dusty was born in Rome, Georgia, September 2, 1951, son of the late John William Dowdy and Tommie Inell Crumley. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Skylar Ann, sister, Beverly Broach, and brother, Johnny Dowdy. Dusty was the owner and CEO of Adairsville Pallet Company. He was an avid fisherman, a phenomenal tennis player and known for his wit and huge sense of humor. Dusty was also a music enthusiast, playing in several bands as the lead singer and drummer. To know him was to love him, he will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Denise Camp Dowdy; Jeremie Dowdy (Kristen), Amber Fairfield (Randall Ledbetter), Seth Dowdy (Alley), and Blaine Greeson (Amanda), and Shawn Greeson (Katie); grandchildren, Justin, Peyton, Mason, Gracie, Melena, K. R., Levi, Gavin, Roy, Jassie, Isabelle, Gabrielle, Titus, Talluah, and Clyde; and 2 nieces
The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM followed with a Celebration of Dusty's life at 4:00PM.
In remembrance of Dusty's love for fishing, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers consider a fishing lure.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Dusty J. Dowdy.
