Dwayne Donte Rogers, affectionately known as "Wild Thang," 49, of Norfolk, VA, was called home to his eternal resting place on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
He was born in Cambridge, MD, on December 19, 1975, to Glendora Rogers and Clarence Ricks.
Dwayne attended Norfolk Public Schools and transitioned to the Flatwoods Job Corps Program in Coeburn, VA, where he obtained a trade as an electrician and HVAC technician. He completed the apprenticeship program with Tidewater Builders Association for electrician and HVAC licensure to further his training. Dwayne was also a beloved barber over the years to many. In the community, and loved his craft. His most recent employer was with Calloway Electric. Dwayne was loyal to those he loved and was a natural protector. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing chess, producing music, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Glendora Rogers and Clarence Ricks; his grandmother, Sarah Hammonds; and his uncle, Richard Rogers.
His legacy continues through his five children, Brandon Blakley, Terrion Burden, Dwayne Harris, Devon Harris, and Tye'ina Rogers; five grandchildren, Jason, Devon, Jr., Brayden, Arya, and Milana; ten siblings, Sorina Freeman (Portsmouth, VA), Devonne Rogers (Norfolk, VA), Glenda Rogers-Garcia (Rob) (Valerico, FL), Jennifer Rogers (Portsmouth, VA), Debora Rogers-Elston (Johnny) (VA Beach, VA), Ella Wayne (Mack) (Norfolk, VA), Michelle Reese (Lusby, MD), Jermaine Rogers (Norfolk, VA), Clarence Ricks, Jr. (Alicia) (Temple Hills, MD), and Joseph Ricks (Virginia) (Portsmouth, VA); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all near and dear to him.
