Dwayne was born on October 3, 1971, in Bridge City, Texas, to Steve Longria and Bernadette Meshell. He was a graduate of Bridge City High School and worked for Market Basket.
Dwayne had a deep love for fishing and hunting. He never met a stranger and was known for his warm smile that could light up a room. A dedicated worker who enjoyed helping others, he also had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with those around him. His mother will fondly remember him smiling at her and saying, "Okie Dokie, Mama."
He is survived by his mother, Bernadette Meshell of El Dorado, Arkansas; his brother, Charles Cage of El Dorado and Joey Self; his sister, Patricia Cage of Jacksonville, Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Charles D. Cage, Jr., Shardai Cage, Donte Tinnin, Jeralynn Bradford and Alana Starwalt; and many great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Cleveland and Joyce Self and his nephew, Jeremiah Bradford.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill. Memories and condolences may be shared at starrfuneralhome.com.
