Dwayne Kent Woolman, 64-year-old Vinita resident, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Grove. He was born on November 24, 1960, in Vinita to Clayton Wayne Woolman and Mary Darlene (Hilderbrand) Woolman. Dwayne attended and graduated from Vinita High School in 1979. He worked for several years for the Oklahoma State Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, as a Doctor's Assistant. He had worked in Tulsa and Tahlequah and other places in Oklahoma during his career. Dwayne enjoyed going to flea markets, buying, and selling items, collecting Native American Artifacts. He also raised Afghan Hounds and show chickens, he had a great love for all animals, he even had a mountain lion at one point.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Wayne Woolman in 2011, and his mother, Mary Darlene McKinzey in January of 2025.
The family includes his brother, Brian Woolman of Vinita; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including Judy Norris and Gary Woolman of Vinita.
The celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, Pastor Skip McClain will officiate. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Friends may give to Neighbors Helping Neighbors or the Vinita Day Center. Arrangements are in care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally family owned and operated funeral home."
