Dwight Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 30, 2009.
Dwight E. “Jeff Allen, 80, of North Little Rock, entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday, April 30th, 2009. Jeff was born on September 1st, 1928 to the late Otis Dwight and Margaret (Robison) Allen in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jeff proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a Civil War buff and a descendant of Ulysses S. Grant. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Jeff was an aviation buff and collected model airplanes. The most important aspect of Jeff’s life was his love for his Heavenly Father. He spent many years in ministry and worked as a missionary to the Jews. He was vice president of Christian Jew Foundation in San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Jeff married the love of his life in 1972, Donna Markey and together they served as missionaries for many years. While we know that he is face to face with Jesus, we will miss his smile and his devotion to his family and to the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Donna; his children Deborah (Grady) Holt of North Little Rock and Robert L. (Karen) Van Elsberg of Enterprise, Alabama; his siblings Robert Allen of Damascus, AR, Donald (Evan) Allen of Huntsville, AR, JoAn Allen of Alexander, AR, Lorrie (Kenneth) Kramer of Anderson, IN, and Daniel (Linda) Allen of Damascus, AR; one grandchild and a host of other extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Emory Langrell officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Family Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 3rd at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home 7724 Landers Road North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117 (501)835-3515
