Dwight Heath Bowers, age 86, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Bakersfield, California. He was born in Albemarle, North Carolina.

Dwight was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by Martha, his loving wife, along with six daughters and one son, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by one grandson.

For more than 60 years, Dwight worked as a contractor, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason, holding membership for 46 years, an accomplishment of which he was very proud.

In his personal life, Dwight enjoyed many passions. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, playing golf with his friends, singing, and playing the guitar. He also greatly enjoyed his plane, reflecting his appreciation for freedom and adventure. Dwight cherished time spent gathering with friends and family and had a special love for animals. Feeding the squirrels and birds brought him simple joy and peace.

Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home southwest, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, California 93313, on February 9, 2026.

Viewing: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Graveside Service: 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Luncheon: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Dwight will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the joy he found in family, friendship, and life's simple pleasures.
