Dwight Pennington Obituary
Dwight Pennington was born on August 20, 1972, to Clifford and Carol Pennington in North Kingstown, RI.
Dwight attended and graduated from Oxbow High School in 1990. He joined the US Army in October 1990 as an infantryman, beginning his 21-year-long career. While in the military, he married Maria Cervantes, and together they had three children – James, Domonic, and Desiree Pennington. Dwight retired on April 27, 2012. In retirement, Dwight earned his bachelor's degree in Christian ministry from Wayland Baptist University and focused his time on his wife, family, and his continued love for woodworking and leathercraft. Dwight took advantage of fleeting moments with his grandchildren by teaching them different crafting skills and engaging in fun activities together.
Dwight is survived by his wife Maria Pennington; children: James Pennington, Domonic Pennington, and Desiree Pennington; and grandchildren: Jordan Pennington, Constantine Pennington, Alaric Pennington, Lance Pennington, and Carson Pennington.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Pennington.
The family has scheduled a visitation for family and friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers.
A service to celebrate Dwight's life has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers.
