Marcus Dwight Simpson, age 80, of Mackville, KY passed away at 10:35 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Washington County on January 12, 1945 to the late Taylor A. and Bertha Esther Corn Simpson.
He was a member of the Mackville Christian Church where he served as a deacon, a graduate of Mackville High School and a retired employee of General Electric.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Foster Simpson on August 22, 2022; a son Rodney Dale Simpson on December 7, 1967; four brothers William Taylor Simpson, Johnny Simpson, T. H. Simpson and James D. Simpson and two sisters, Catherine Bruner and Lula Joyce Peel.
Survivors include a son, Greg Simpson (Cary) of Jamestown, TN; a daughter, Karen Curtsinger (Dennis) of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, Cody Curtsinger, Courtney Curtsinger and Ty Simpson; a step granddaughter, Camarie Miller; a step great grandson, Caleb Hill and a sister, Lettie Mae Royalty of Louisville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27th at the Mackville Christian Church with Bro. Jim Cooper, officiating and he will be assisted by Bro. John Herndon.
Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Curtsinger, Ty Simpson, Tristen Eldersma, Marshall Simpson, Jeffery Foster, Eddie Young, Steven Royalty and Terrill Simpson.
Visitation will be at the Mackville Christian Church after 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning until the time of the funeral service.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
