LINCOLNVILLE BEACH.On Friday, June 7, 2024, we lost a wonderful husband, father, brother,
and overall great man. Dwight Fraser Snow of Lincolnville, Maine, passed away unexpectedly after a day
of work with a friend at his camp on Schoodic Lake.
Dwight was born on Nov 1, 1942, to parents Dwight G. and Winnie H. Snow in Camden, Maine. Dwight
spent his childhood between his grandparent's blueberry farm in Hope and the shores of Camden
Harbor.
He graduated from Camden High School in 1961 and enlisted in the United States Air Force soon after.
He served for 8 years, traveling the world building ray domes and towers in Japan, Germany, Turkey, and
Korea.
Dwight met his wife Kathy through friends in the winter of 1963. They married in Camden on October 7,
1967. Dwight and Kathy welcomed their daughter Katie in July of 1974.
Dwight worked for the many iterations of the phone company retiring from Verizon after 38 years, in
2008. He met many wonderful friends at work and enjoyed all the overtime he could get.
Dwight loved his work, and doing projects at home, or camp. He always had a project and was always
there to help a friend or neighbor. He enjoyed a good walk in the woods, hunting, and fishing with
friends along lakes and rivers in Northern Maine. In his retirement, he could be found mowing or
puttering and helping with friend's construction projects. In the afternoon he loved to sit with a drink
and watch the wildlife in the backyard or on the lake.
Dwight is predeceased by his father Dwight Snow and mother Winne Snow. He is survived by his wife
Kathy, daughter Katie, son-in-law Trevor Mills, and their daughter Amelia of Rockport Maine. His
siblings, Bradford Snow of Somerville Maine, Bernice Ianacone and her husband Bruce of Clifton Virginia,
and Beth Snow of Rockport Maine, and many nieces and nephews. Also, his cousin Dusty Cram and his
wife Ruthann of Sidney Maine.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Maine Community Foundation for the M. Alton French scholarship,
245 Main Street, Ellsworth, ME 04605-1613, or Pope Memorial Humane Society, 25 Buttermilk Lane,
Thomaston, Maine 04861. Condolences and memories may be shared at longfuneralhomecamden.com.
A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9 Mountain Street, Camden.
