Dylan Besing

Dylan Besing, of Oakland City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 24,2025, at the young age of 20. He was born March 25, 2005, to Kelly Besing and Dawn Jorgensen. Dylan was a 2023 graduate of Wood Memorial High School.
Dylan had a beautiful smile and a big heart. He was a kind, sensitive, and deeply loved young man. He loved his friends and always knew how to cheer someone up. He enjoyed riding his dirt bike, fishing, shooting, listening to music, and going for drives.
Dylan faced many challenges in his life, including the heavy burden of grief over the loss of his beloved mom, Dawn Jorgensen, when he was just 12 years old.
Dylan fought bravely to find his way forward and had recently earned his 90-day clean and sober badge during his recovery journey. He was incredibly proud of the progress he was making-an achievement that reflected both his strength and his hope for a brighter future. He was, though, so much more than his struggles. He was a fighter-son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend-who will be deeply missed.
Dylan was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Jorgensen of Owensville; his grandfather, David Jorgensen of Evansville; and his grandparents, Jerry and Marlene Besing of Oakland City. We have no doubt they are now holding him in their arms in heaven.
Dylan is survived by his father, Kelly Besing, and his brothers, Trenton Besing (Emma) and Koleton Besing (Sydney), all of Oakland City; his grandparents, Chuck and Karen Stogner of Evansville; his uncles, Jeff Besing (Kristina) and Victor Besing; his aunts, Becky Helfert (Todd), Jessi Coomer, and Christi Norrington-Stogner; his nieces, Jerri and Ailee; and his cousins, Gavin, Kayla, Renee, Kenzlie, and many other cherished cousins and friends.
Though Dylan may be gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts. Until we meet again
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. C.S.T., the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Matt Malin officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton, Indiana.
