E. McLellan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2025.
E. Dallas McLellan Jr., 66, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was a good ol' country man through and through, he was someone who found happiness in the simple things and lived life exactly the way he wanted. He loved fishing, hunting with friends, sitting around bonfires, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Those moments meant everything to him.
He would be the first to tell you he didn't want tears shed over his passing. Instead, he wanted smiles, laughter, and stories shared because he truly loved his life and wanted it celebrated. He believed memories were meant to be cherished, not mourned.
A hardworking man in every sense of the word, he spent much of his career as a network engineer. He was never afraid of honest manual labor either, taking on tough jobs and eventually starting his own dirt work business. No matter the task, he showed up ready to work with pride and grit. Above all, he was devoted to his family. He loved deeply, worked tirelessly, and lived fully. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the countless memories made around campfires, fishing lines, and family gatherings.
He was the kind of man who was always there for anyone, anytime they needed him whether it was lending a hand, offering advice, or simply showing up when it mattered most. Helping others was just part of who he was.
He is preceded in death by his father, E. Dallas McLellan Sr, his siblings, Randall McLellan, Susie Baxter, Mickey Lemmon, Donna Baxter. Dallas is survived by his children; Cassidy Cruse (Josh), Hunter Dallas McLellan (Katie), and Jessica McLellan, his life partner, Kathleen Frazier, his mother, Marguerite Rinehart, his sisters, Shannon Baxter and Liz Loveday Barnes, his eight grandchildren; Scarlet, Georgia, Reese, Josey, Colt Dallas, Forrest, Greyson and Finley.
A celebration of his life and legacy will be held for Dallas on Sunday, January 18th at 2pm at The Landrum building (1141 Quito Drummonds Road Drummonds, TN 38023)
The family welcomes all to come as you wish to honor Dallas by telling a story, sharing a memory, and having lots of laughs.
