Elaine Thompson

Elaine Thompson, 102, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Born on August 25, 1923, in Marriottsville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Earl Preston Zepp and Mary Grace Ways Zepp. She was the wife of 73 years to the late Mr. Grover Clarence Thompson Sr. (2013).

Elaine was a loving mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to her family. She was very selfless and enjoyed doing for others. She enjoyed cooking, babysitting and dancing. She and her family share many memories ballroom dancing. She worked in the billing department for A&P for over 25 years. Elaine took wonderful care of her mother until she passed. When she retired, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Grover Clarence Thompson Jr. and daughter in law Linda Thompson.

She is survived by her daughters Mary Lena Talley and Diana Talley of Sykesville; grandchildren Kimberly (Alan), Jackie, Jamie (Scott), Michael (Shawn), Steven, Jennifer, Amy (Todd) and Bradley; great grandchildren Jacob (Logyn), Allyson (Ronnie), Morgan (Keith), William, Brady, Olivia and Finn, great great grandchildren; Evelyn, Wyatt, and James. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
