Howard “Howie” Ewing Thompson, Jr., age 47, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026. He was born January 4, 1979 to Deborah Roark. Howie was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Potter.
Howie loved being in the mountains, especially camping and fishing. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a “jack of all trades”. He worked a variety of jobs including millwrighting and as a line cook.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother and stepfather, Deborah and Jimmy Roark; daughter, Kala Freeman; son, Brenden Roark; sisters, Roxanne Hodge, Deborah “Debbie” Edwards, Ashley Roark, and Ashley Thompson; brother, Jimmy Roark; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
It was his wish that no formal service be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
