Earl James Allen Sr., 81, of Winter Haven Florida and Warsaw, Indiana died at 9:53 p.m. on August 22, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, Florida after a long illness. He was born June 19, 1944, in Warsaw, Indiana to Grover C. and Sarah E. England Allen.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor “Etsie” Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Indiana with Military Honors.
There will be a dinner at Free United Baptist Church, 7035 Hwy 13, three miles south of Pierceton after the burial.
On August 19, 1968, Earl enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served bear Saigon in Vietnam from February 6, 1969, to February 7, 1970. He was honorably discharged from the Army on June 15, 1970. Earl was a proud Veteran. During his time in service, he fought gallantly in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal and an Army Commendation Medal, both with “V” devices indicating both awards were earned for his personal acts of heroism during combat. After serving in the military, Earl was a business owner and a real estate investor.
On September 20, 2014, he married Susanne Breault, who survives.
Earl split his time between his homes in Winter Haven, Florida and Warsaw, Indiana. He loved going to Hard Rock and Four Winds casinos, auctions, flea markets and estate sales. Before he got ill, he also loved hunting for morel mushrooms in several different states. And fishing on the lake where he lived in Florida.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law and granddaughter.
Earl is survived by his loving wife Susanne Allen, his sons, Terry Allen, Indianapolis and Earl James (Samantha) Allen Jr., Jacksonville, FL and his daughter Beth Jordan, Winter Haven, FL. His stepson, Frank (Tina) Breault Jr., and stepdaughters, Kristi (partner Pheenix) Breault, Donna (partner Steve) Breault and Sandy Breault.
He is also survived by his brother Rex (Tammy) Allen of Warsaw; two sisters, Phyllis Jean Shepherd of North Manchester and Dixie (Richard) Syndram of Pierceton. And many grandchildren and step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, in Florida and Indiana.
There was a service at Oakridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, Florida on August 28, 2025.
