Earl Eugene Cross, 93 of Ferndale, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 26, 2024 surrounded by his family. Earl was born on September 2, 1930 in Baltimore to the late Earl and Minnie Cross. He worked as truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight in Baltimore for 43 years. His dedication to providing for his family and his commitment to them was unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. Earl enjoyed watching TV and in his younger years, coaching baseball, and football.
Along with his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet L. Cross; and his daughter-in-law, Ruth Cross. He is survived by his five children, Sharon Loudermilk (William), Carol Burkhardt, Barbara Cross (Steve James), Earl Cross and Kimberly Cross; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter. Earl considered himself the “Last of the Mohicans” because he’d outlived many of his family and friends. 

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, April 2nd from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel.
In memory of Earl E. Cross, may his legacy of love and dedication continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and friends during this time of mourning.
