Earl Deines

Earl Deines was born in Abilene, Kansas September 17,1947 and passed away November 21,2025 in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up on the family farm and attended Chapman schools. He graduated with the class of 1965 from Dickinson County Community High School.

Earl helped his folks on the family farm and worked for Bob Hollinger in High School. After graduation he served in the Army Reserves. Earl attended Brown Mackie where he met Kay Rust. They were married and had two children Amy Williams and Kevin Deines. After they divorced Earl met and married Betty Eis and they had two children Nathan Deines and Erin McComas.

Earl is survived by his wife of 49 years Betty Deines and his four children as well as 5 grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Lorinda Battishill of Chapman and Donita Sellin of Wichita.

Preceding Earl in death were his brother Rodney Deines and his parents Lester and Vera Deines.

Earl helped his folks on the farm from an early age and worked odd jobs to supplement the farm but farming was his calling. He was a member of Hi Y, FFA and Young Farmers. He was a member of Scherer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Memorial services will be held Thursday December 4 at 12:00 p.m. The family will greet visitors at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held later. Memorials may be made to the family as they have not designated a recipient yet.
