Earl Joseph Gilginas,
Merrill, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Centre Nursing Facility in St. Louis, Michigan. Age 93 years. Son of the late Joseph and Alice (Sinkiewicz) Gilginas, Earl was born August 11, 1932, in Saginaw, Michigan. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served in the Honor Guard for Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post #7302. Earl married Bonnie J. Nizinski on October 20, 1956. She predeceased him December 3, 1970. He later married Sally Bagnell on September 6, 1974. She predeceased him August 31, 2009. Earl was a tool inspector at Saginaw Steering Gear. He was a member of the Catholic Faith and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving to cherish his memory are one daughter, one son and their spouses, Darlene and David Cordingly, Saginaw; Rick and Ronda Gilginas, Chuluota, Florida; three grandchildren, Shannon Aulabugh, Kevin and Jessica Cordingly, Brian and Emily Gilginas; ten great-grandchildren, Audrey Aulabaugh, Ayva Gilginas, Bronson Gilginas, Allison Cordingly, Bella Cordingly, Faith Cordingly, David Cordingly, Harrison Cordingly, Micah Cordingly and Maddie Cordingly; several nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Wisniewski.
Funeral Service will take place 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. John S. Mancini, OSFS will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post #439 and the U.S. Army. Friends may visit at the funeral home, where the family will be present on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
