Earl Dallas Hagans, a dedicated veteran, loving father and devoted public servant passes away peacefully on Tuesday April 8, 2025, at Northwestern Hospital in McHenry. He was 93 years old and resident of Fox Lake of the time of his passing. Born in San Franscisco, CA, on July 1, 1931, Earl was the beloved son of Homer and Anna Marie Bryant-Hagans. He graduated from Madera Union High School in the class of 1951 and soon after answered the call to serve his country during the Korena War.
As a proud member of the United States Navy, he served as an Airman in Fleet Aircraft Service Squadron 8, Fighter Squadron 64 and Fleet Aircraft Squadron 116. Earl's dedication earned him numerous commendations, including the Good Conduct Medal, National Service Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. He was honorably discharged on May 20, 1955.
Following his military service Earl pursued higher education in Criminology at Fresno State College. He then began a meaningful career as a juvenile group supervisor and probation officer for Madera County. His passion for helping at-risk youth shaped much of his life's work. Earl was a compassionate mentor and counselor who firmly believed in the power of second chances and dedicated himself to guiding troubled young people to brighter futures.
In 1973, Earl married the love of his life, Carol Lynn McLachlan. Together, they raised a blended family and a life full of love. Earl took great pride in being a father and stepfather, offering support, wisdom and unconditional love to each of his children throughout their lives.
A man of many talents and relentless work ethic, Earl also worked in security and took pride in his skills in the trades-from electrical and mechanical work to plumbing, remodeling and building custom homes. He was known for his integrity, craftsmanship and the many letters of recommendation that followed him throughout his career. Later in life, he contributed his wisdom and care to the local school district, continuing his lifelong commitment to service.
Earl's legacy is one service, strength and compassion. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children: Carolynn Hagans-Bancroft, Jared Bancroft (son-in-law), stepsons, Mark and Curt Bradshaw; grandchildren: Dylan and Makala Hagans, Blake, Tanis and Tamra Bancroft; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Homer and Anna Marie, siblings, Herb and Barbara; his wife, Carol Hagans and his stepsons, Tom (Annie) and Troy Bradshaw.
A celebration of Earl's remarkable life will be held at a later date. His family invited all who knew him to join in honoring the life of a man who gave so much to other – a life well lived and deeply loved.

Earl wow I saw your name and images of you and my brother Eugene Rosio came into my view.
I remember you from my school days . You always had a kind word and would stop to chat if you were not trying to keep those old cantankerous boilers running .

Definitely a wonderful person and it´s pleasure and an honor to know you.

When the last bells rings it´s a very long summer vacation for you .

God bless you Earl
