Earl Clinton Johnson, born on July 24, 1965, in McDowell County, left this world on January 28, 2026, at UNC Blue Ridge in Morganton. A beloved husband and father, Clinton passing is felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
For 30 years, Clinton shared his life with his devoted wife, Pebble Mitcham Johnson. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their two daughters, Victoria Ashton Creech (Abby) and Savanna Renee McKinney (Hunter). Clinton was a dedicated family man, who found joy in every moment spent with his loved ones.
Clinton's legacy extends beyond his immediate family. He is survived by his brother, Bryan Johnson, and his uncle, Leonard Parker (Linda), who fondly remember the impact he had on their lives. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Johnson and Ruth Parker Johnson, as well as his siblings, Harold Johnson and Melissa Johnson.
Clinton was a member of Nebo Crossing Church. He was an incredibly talented craftsman , capable of building anything from furniture to cherished keepsakes. Clinton also had a passion for cooking, often delighting family and friends with his culinary skills. Fishing, particularly at the Outer Banks, brought him immense joy and served as a cherished pastime. He was a passionate bee keeper for 10 - 15 years, and was known for his mustard green and sourwood honey.
Clinton will be honored with a visitation and funeral service on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Nebo Crossing Church, located at 263 Barnes Road, Marion, NC 28752 officiated by Rev. David Likins. The visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service.
In the hearts of his family and friends, Clinton Johnson will forever remain a source of love, strength, and inspiration. His memory will continue to light the path for those he left behind.
