Earl Krieger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carnes Brothers Funeral Home on Dec. 8, 2025.
With great love and remembrance, we celebrate the life of

Earl Edward Krieger
1937 – 2025

Earl Edward Krieger, 87, passed away on December 5, 2025. Born in Houston, Texas, Earl made his home in Galveston, where he spent his later years surrounded by the beauty of the coast and the people he loved.

Earl served proudly in the U.S. Army Reserves, training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Fort Gordon, Georgia. A graduate of the University of Houston, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. His professional life was marked by his integral role with the Judge Roy Hofheinz Organization in the development of the Houston Astrodome - an iconic project that reflected his dedication and vision.

Earl was also deeply involved in community service. He was instrumental in keeping The Diana Foundation moving forward through the 1990s, dedicating countless hours to its Annual Awards Show and Country Dinner events. He later served as President of the organization from 2001 to 2004, continuing his legacy of leadership and commitment. His friendship, generosity, and compassion for the community will be deeply missed.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and William Krieger, and his sister, Judy Ludwig. He is survived by his devoted life partner, Bill F. Poplin; his brother-in-law, Jim Ludwig; his sister-in-law, Lee Ann, and her husband, Mark Condron; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Poplin, and his husband, Kevin O'Neill. He is also survived by his niece, Tiffani, and her husband, Jeff Brantner, and their children Cullen, Ella, and Finn; and his nephew, Clint Haygood, and his wife, Ragan, and their children Knox and Harper.

Earl's was a life well-lived - with strength and grace, filled with sweet moments, smiles, and friendships built on good times and laughter. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, pride, and enduring love - a lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure always.

Services will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, Galveston, Texas, on December 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in The Bryan Museum Conservatory.
