Earl Lowry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vaughan-Temple Funeral Home on Jan. 15, 2026.
Earl "Mike" Clinton Lowry, born March 24, 1937 in Lamar, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. A resident of Sedley, Virginia, Mike was a loving father, a devoted educator, and an avid Christian songwriter and pianist whose favorite key was F major. Ultimately, however, the rhythm of his life was set by his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mike dedicated much of his lifetime to the noble cause of education. A man of many talents, he held a Master's Degree in Education, and served as a respected teacher of English, Spanish, and Math. His colleagues admired him as the go-to person for editing and proofreading correspondences.

At home, Mike was a committed Christian, faithful husband and caring father, preferring to serve the needs of others over his own. "Humble servant" very much describes his character.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Wilma Lowry, as well as his beloved wife of 51 years, Nadene, whom he cherished to the end for her red hair and spunky personality. We imagine a beautiful reunion with her filled with music and laughter. He is survived by his three sons, Michael, Wayne and David, as well as his nine grandchildren.

We invite you to celebrate Mike's remarkable life by sharing your memories, stories, and photos on his memorial page. Let us remember him not just as a teacher, musician, or a father, but as a man who lived his life well, inspiring others to do the same. Let's keep his melody playing on, one memory at a time.
