Earl Q. Parrott, M.D, age 77, passed away early Sunday morning, October 26, 2025, at NHC Transitional Care, after a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with Reverend Christopher Bowhay officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM in the Parrish Hall. Burial will be at St. John’s Ashwood following the service.
Earl was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 19, 1947 to the late Deverse Quinton Parrott and Wilda Tarwater Parrott. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and German from Tennessee Technology University and an M.D. from University of Tennessee Memphis Medical School completing his Psychiatry residency at University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Celia Watson Parrott; son, Richard Adam Parrott (Hiromi); aunts, Mary Parrott Henry, Doris Tarwater Phelps; nieces, Amy Parrott, Ashley Parrott, Kayla Cagle; nephew, Dylan Shadrick.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Edmond Parrott.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the following: St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 311 W. 7th Street, Columbia, TN, Doctors Without Borders, doctorswithoutborders.org, or Harvest Share Food Pantry, 419 W. 9th Street, Columbia, TN.
