Earl Franklin Parsons

Earl Franklin Parsons, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at his home in Valley Grove, WV, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the age of 91. Now reunited with his cherished wife, Geraldine "Jeri" Parsons, and at peace with Jesus, Earl leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication.
Born on August 20, 1933, in Marshall County, WV, Earl was the son of the late Clell and Mildred (Dodd) Parsons. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Earl's commitment to service extended beyond his military duty; he dedicated 67 years to his work as an Operating Engineer for Local #132, where his passion for mechanics shone brightly. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything mechanical, Earl was a true craftsman whose skills were admired by many.
Earl found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping and fishing, often spending weekends in nature, where he could unwind and connect with the great outdoors. His green thumb was evident in his bountiful garden, where he took pride in canning vegetables to share with family and friends. Above all, his greatest joy came from the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Earl was also accompanied by his faithful dog, Stella, whose companionship brought him comfort and joy in his later years.
Earl is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeri, and his siblings: sisters Jean Wells, Lorraine Parsons, Katherine Parsons, Arlene Parsons, Dorothy Hamilton; and brothers Dale Parsons, Lawrence Parsons, Wayne Parsons, Lewis Parsons, Elmer Parsons, Clarence Parsons, and one infant brother.
He is survived by his loving children: Judy Parsons (Kirk) Luzader, Eric Parsons, Aaron Parsons (Christy), and Joseph Parsons (Sally). Earl's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Stephanie Luzader Crow (Bill), Ashley Luzader Beltrondo (Matt), and Erica Parsons (Jacob), as well as his great-grandchildren: Racen, Lorraine, Braxton, and Baby Parsons. He is also survived by his brothers, Jay (Kathy) Parsons and Paul (Helen) Parsons, along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to Peggy for her comfort and support during this time.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Earl's life on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2 PM until the time of service at 4 PM at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).
