Earl Gilbert "Gil" Pinney, 74 of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2025, from complications of a heart attack.
Gil was born on August 2, 1951, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late Earl and Georgianne (Gilbert) Pinney. He was the eldest of two children and was predeceased by his younger brother, Mark Pinney.
Gil was raised in Rockford, Illinois and was in the graduating high school class of 1969 at Rockford High School.
At Rockford College, Gil earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics in 1973. He later continued his education at Northern Illinois University, where he received his Master of Business Administration degree in 1981. Gil was ambitious and driven, believing deeply in the value of education and hard work.
In 1972, Gil married Jane (Smilgielski) Pinney, and together they shared 28 years of marriage, raising three sons who were the pride of his life. He moved his family to Dunedin, Florida in 1984 to pursue career opportunities in his profession and to give his family a better life.
Gil worked hard throughout his life, building a career in operations management and quality assurance with companies such as Frito-Lay, Molex, and several pharmaceutical firms. His expertise and leadership earned him a respected reputation nationwide.
For the past seven years, Gil shared his life with his loving partner, Jennifer Rosenblatt, in Port St. Lucie. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. Gil also held a special place in his heart for Jennifer's children, Adam and Noah, whom he cared for as his own.
Gil is survived by his partner in life Jennifer Rosenblatt; his three sons, Dr. Grant (Yajara) Pinney of Orlando, FL; Adam (Robin) Pinney of Palm Harbor, FL; and Ross Pinney of Wesley Chapel, FL. He is also survived by his seven beloved grandchildren: Gavin, A.J., Gabriella, Samantha, Gage, Dain, and Mia.
Gil will be remembered for his kind spirit, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and his unwavering devotion to his family.
Gil enjoyed watching hockey and he was a devoted Tampa Bay Lighting fan. He was a natural athlete and true competitor at heart.
He was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones, sharing stories, offering guidance, and creating lasting memories. His absence will be deeply felt at every holiday, birthday, and family gathering, but his legacy of love and devotion will live on through his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know him.
A memorial service to honor Gil's life will be held at a later date to be determined.
