Earl L. Posey passed away at his home on Monday, January 27, 2025, surrounded by his family at the age of 84. He was born September 19, 1940 in Randolph, Alabama to the late June and Lydia Smith Posey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Ruth Ingram Posey; brothers, Willie G. Posey, Donald O'Neal Posey and Roger Posey and sister, Jewell Dean Sanders.
He is survived by his children, Greg (Tammie) Posey and Joy (Jeff) Albrecht; grandchildren, April Michelle Posey and Kristina Hope Albrecht; sister-in-law, Debra Crawford Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He dedicated many years to being a member and President of the LLL Fishing Club and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Ed Byrom officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be David Day, Jamie Day, Ferrell Denny, Jimmy Posey, Joey Holmes and Ron Leverett.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Enhabit Hospice; 4782 Woodmere Boulevard Suite C; Montgomery AL 36106.
