Earl Rowden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Jan. 7, 2024.
Earl Dean Rowden, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, departed from this world on January 5, 2024, at the age of 81 after a short illness. He was born on December 15, 1942, in California to Willis and Dorthy Rowden.
Dean was a man of many talents and passions. He dedicated his professional life to working as a manager in the food service industry with Cox Health. He excelled in his career, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with.
On August 19, 1971, he was united in marriage to Patricia Willard. Their love spanned over 52 years before his untimely passing. He deeply cherished his time spent with his children and took special care to teach them unforgettable lessons about life. His greatest delight came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love and wisdom. In his spare time, Dean enjoyed playing pool, a game that brought him great joy and friendly competition.
Nature was a sanctuary for Dean, and he found solace and tranquility in activities like fishing and engaging in various sports. He was an avid environmentalist and enjoyed watching the weather patterns. He became proficient at understanding the weather trends to tell friends and family. Dean was a skilled handyman, able to fix anything he set his mind to and enjoyed solving and repairing any issue set before him. After retiring from Cox Health, he channeled his artistic talent into upholstering furniture. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were unmatched.
Dean's thirst for knowledge and love for travel knew no bounds. He had an insatiable curiosity about the world, always seeking to broaden his horizons. He harbored a deep interest in Native American culture and artifacts, and he passionately shared his findings and discoveries with those around him.
Dean's caring nature extended beyond his immediate family, as he had a reputation for being a humorous and helpful neighbor. His zest for life and warm heart touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
He was preceded in death his parents, and a son, Michael Wayne Clark.
Dean is survived by his wife, Patricia; a son and his wife Colton and Kellie Rowden; daughter Sharmyn Clark and her spouse, Mark McGrievy, and daughter, Michelle Easterly; three grandchildren, Raena Clark, Shaina Michnal, and Macie Drake; four great-grandchildren, Emeri, Drew, Trey, and Harper; other family members and friends.
Dean's absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he was an integral part of. His legacy will live on through the memories they shared together. Arrangements were entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home, North. Condolences and fond memories may be left at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com
